| Group Volunteers There are over 100 groups from faith organizations, businesses, schools and professional organizations that volunteer at one of our construction sites each year. Without the help of these groups, the work that we do would not be possible. Please contact Holly Hinson to schedule a group workday: 502.637.6265 x34 or 502.807.1815. Community Service Workdays We build with volunteer groups on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. We can accommodate groups of 8-12 people. No construction skills or tools are needed. Volunteers must be at least 16. The workday is 8:30 am until 3:30 pm and we ask for a full-day commitment. Groups are required to register in advance and are scheduled on a first-come basis. Saturdays fill up quickly, so please call at least 3-4 months in advance for a weekend slot. Corporate groups make a tax-deductible donation of $250 and all other groups (churches, schools and nonprofits) make a tax-deductible donation of $50. The donations are due at the time of registration and help share the cost of building materials.
Habitat Team Builds are NOT your typical team-building exercises… Tired of overpriced team-building exercises where people do “trust falls” into the arms of co-workers they don’t really trust? Then join us for a dynamic experience where up to 12 of your employees not only form a team, they actually build as one - even if they can’t tell a hammer from a wrench. Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville makes it simple. You make a tax-deductible contribution of $2,000. We'll schedule a day at a site within Metro Louisville and provide: - a coordinator to manage the process and answer your questions;
- tools, training, hard hats, lunch, and Habitat T shirts;
- the information you need to promote the event by newsletter, e-mail, or intranet; and
- a CD with digital pictures you can use to report on the event.
Later, we’ll recognize you publicly in our lists of corporate/group donors. It’s amazing how job grades blur and departmental conflicts disappear as you hammer, saw, paint, drill, plant, and otherwise work alongside a local family to transform their dream into reality with your own hands. It’s an experience your employees will be talking about far longer than the last off-site retreat you had. Organize a “Hammers for Habitat” Tool Drive Collect used (but in good condition) power, hand, and garden tools to donate to Habitat. Invite Employees to Buy Kroger Cards Employees can buy Kroger cards from Habitat with $10 already charged on them. Then recharge the card for up to $500 and use it at the checkout counter like a credit or debit card. 5% of what they spend goes back to Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville.
