In the midst of a worldwide housing crisis, millions of families still live in dangerous, unhealthy housing, struggling every day just to survive.  For them, Habitat for Humanity's self-help housing program is a beacon of hope.

A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity builds simple and affordable homes in partnership with those in need of decent housing.  Families purchase the houses at no profit, through interest-free loans.

Habitat builds alongside families who demonstrate the need and willingness to partner with Habitat.  Families invest hundreds of hours of their own "sweat-equity" labor into their houses.  Their monthly mortgage payments help fund the construction of more houses.

The Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville affiliate begain in 1985.  Since then, over 5,000 volunteers have worked alonside families to complete 250 Habitat homes in Louisville, Kentucky, sheltering 277 adults and 519 children.

Habitat for Humanity would like to thank it’s healthy living sponsor,
AllergyZone, for their donation of a year's supply of AllergyZone
Furnace Filters for all 2008 Habitat houses.

Flower Power.

Flower Donation

It’s spring in Metro Louisville and many people are beginning to notice how many flowers they need to split up in their gardens.
As you try to decide what to do with your leftovers, keep Habitat ReStore in mind.  Last summer, plant sales accounted for almost $30,000 in profit for Habitat.

So, Bring your transplantable leftovers down to ReStore and help us continue a great fundraiser from last year.  Try to mark what your plants are so we can label them for our customers.  But don’t worry about putting them in pots.  Spruce Hill Nursery donated hundreds of pots so that our nursery volunteers can take your donations and keep them healthy for our shoppers.

Flower Power – another way to help Habitat for Humanity.
